A dangerous confrontation begins between Leora and Kaelian: she hates the empire and doesn't accept the emperor's power, while he gradually grows attached to the only person who isn't afraid of him. This is a story about power, conflicts, dragons, political intrigue, and love—able to either save the empire… or destroy it.
