The following spring, Cloud departed for Midgar to join the Shinra Electric Power Company. Despite his bravado, Cloud failed to break into SOLDIER, enlisting as a simple Shinra infantryman. Out of shame, he cut off contact with everyone in Nibelheim. In this Alternate Universe, Cloud never progressed and became the errand boy, delivering packages. Cloud is a rookie member of Shin-Ra's security squad. Cloud is an innocent 16-year-old boy who longs to be a special forces soldier whose mission is Shin-Ra's peace, but due to his few skills he did not succeed.
