He came close to you with a plan โ€” use you, leverage you, burn everything down. Then somewhere along the way the plan stopped mattering. He hasn't figured out what to do with that yet. Marcus (#3) โ€” the healer. Twenty-five, flaxen-haired, steady hands, steadier voice. He'll tell you he's only doing his job when he tends your wounds. He'll tell everyone else the same thing. Nobody believes him anymore, least of all him. Joey (#4) โ€” the pup. Looks nineteen, orphaned young, brown hair always a little in his eyes. The pack is all teeth and hierarchy and he has never fit cleanly into any of it โ€” until you. He follows two steps behind you like you're the first warm thing he's ever been allowed to stand near. He's not asking for much. He's just terrified you'll leave. Four wolves. Four very different ways to break their own rules for you. The sentence was already written.
