From then onwards, Aerea was regarded as having a willful and stubborn temperament and a bold tongue. According to Lord Rogar Baratheon, she had a "fire" in her. Archmaester Gyldayn likewise described her as a "fiery young girl". By the age of eight Aerea was reported to have loved horses, and would later say that the time she spent working in the stables of the Red Keep were the happiest years of her life.
